It’s that time of the year when we can’t help but watch for the latest smartphone leaks, and Google hasn’t disappointed. The Pixel series has become synonymous with unintentional pre-release reveals, and the Pixel 8 Pro is no exception. This time, Google’s “oops moment” occurred via their very own 360-degree simulator, giving us a sneak peek at what’s in store.

The leak, initially spotted by tech sleuth José Rubén, uncovered not just one but three gorgeous color options for the Pixel 8 Pro: blue, porcelain, and black. These options give users a chance to personalize their phones according to their preferences. If you’re into aesthetics, you’ll be pleased to know that the home screen bears a striking resemblance to the previous Pixel 7 Pro, blending familiarity with a modern touch.

The simulator also confirmed a couple of exciting features. First off, there’s a physical SIM card slot, addressing a common request from users. Additionally, we’ve got a temperature sensor on board, enhancing the phone’s capabilities. While we’re not sure of all its applications just yet, it’s always exciting to see new tech making its way into our devices.

While the simulator offered a visual feast, it didn’t spill the beans on the Pixel 8 Pro’s technical specifications. Fortunately, the rumor mill has been churning away, providing us with some juicy tidbits.

One standout feature is the camera system. It’s rumored to include a 50-megapixel primary camera that can capture 50 percent more light. Plus, there’s a 64-megapixel ultrawide Sony camera, promising fantastic photography experiences.

In terms of design, the Pixel 8 Pro is expected to feature a flat display, a departure from the curved screens seen in its predecessors. This could be a game-changer for those who prefer a more traditional display.

Under the hood, there’s a hefty 5,000 mAh battery, addressing one of the most common smartphone woes — battery life. With a 27W max charging speed, you won’t be waiting around for your phone to juice up.

Now for the exciting part! Google is ready to reveal the Pixel 8 Pro at its next launch event, slated for October 4th at 10 AM ET. The timing of this leak, just ahead of Apple’s iPhone 15 launch on September 12, adds a dash of competition to the mix. Whether it’s a calculated move or a coincidence, it’s got tech enthusiasts buzzing with anticipation.

Alongside the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, there might be some surprise appearances at the launch event. Rumor has it that the Pixel Watch 2 and other hardware innovations could make their debut.
