In today’s world, virtual meetings have become the norm. Google Meet is introducing a new feature called “portrait touch-up” to help you look your best on camera. This feature will enhance your appearance and give you a virtual glow-up like never before. It’s a great solution to those less-than-perfect moments when you need to make a good impression.
If you’ve ever found yourself joining a video call after a rough night, a brisk run, or while recovering from a cold, you’re probably familiar with that moment of self-consciousness when you see yourself on the screen. Google Meet’s latest offering aims to alleviate those worries.
Starting on October 28, Google Workspace users will have the power to “subtly enhance [their] appearance” during their video calls on mobile devices. You can activate this feature either before entering the meeting or adjust it in real-time. There are two modes to choose from: the “subtle” touch-up, which offers a light complexion smoothing, under-eye lightening, and eye whitening, and the “smoothing” touch-up, which applies these changes more intensively.
It’s important to note that this feature will be turned off by default, and it’s expected to be available on desktop devices by the end of the year. Unfortunately, at this time, there are no plans to make it accessible to users with personal Google Accounts.
For those who have been using Zoom, a similar feature called “touch up my appearance” has been available for years. This handy tool allows users to quickly smooth out fine lines and perfect their complexion in real-time. With Google Meet’s new “portrait touch-up,” you can now confidently put your best face forward in every virtual interaction.
