Android users who rely on Google‘s note-taking and list-making app Keep just got an incredibly useful upgrade. Google is testing a new “Help me create a list” feature that uses its new artificial intelligence system called Gemini to quickly and easily generate detailed lists for users.

As first spotted by 9to5Google, when you tap the new floating button in the bottom right corner of the Keep app, a text box pops up prompting you to specify what type of list you need help creating. Tell Keep you need a packing list for a beach vacation, a checklist for a road trip with the family, or anything else that comes to mind, and its intelligent Gemini AI will automatically generate a customized list for you.

The goal is to “help you jump start shopping lists, to-do lists, packing lists and more,” according to Google. So whether you need to remember to bring sunscreen and flip-flops for your tropical getaway or make sure you have jumper cables and an emergency kit for your cross-country drive, Keep can now lend a hand.

To get the best results from the feature, Google recommends providing specific details like exactly where you’re going and how many people you’re traveling or packing for. The more information you give, the more personalized your auto-generated checklist will be. And if you’re not happy with the results, you can give Google feedback by clicking thumbs up or thumbs down icons.

Once you’re satisfied, just tap “Insert” and Gemini will automatically turn the AI-created list into an editable Keep note you can tweak to your heart’s content. It’s a major time-saver that takes the effort out of racking your brain trying to recall everything you need to pack or prepare beforehand.

The “Help me create a list” feature is still in testing, so not every Keep user has access yet. But when and if the upgrade rolls out more widely, it will join a growing number of Google services powered behind-the-scenes by Gemini and other AI advancements.

As with any AI, it’s wise to avoid sharing private or sensitive details since human reviewers sometimes look at data to improve the technology. But when used responsibly, Gemini makes life easier by letting you instantly tap into Google’s artificial intelligence to handle mundane tasks like list-making. For busy Android users, that’s one less chore to worry about.
