Google has announced the launch of Gems, a new feature that allows users to create personalized AI chatbots. These customizable assistants can be tailored to specific tasks and preferences, offering a more tailored and interactive experience.

Google’s ‘Gems’ lets you create your own AI companion

Users can define the desired personality and expertise of their Gems by providing a set of instructions. For example, one could create a “knowledgeable and friendly” Gem to assist with gardening, or a “strict and no-nonsense” Gem to act as a personal trainer.

Google is initially offering a selection of pre-built Gems, including a learning coach, an idea brainstormer, a career guide, a coding partner, and an editor. These options provide a starting point for users who aren’t ready to create their own.
