Computer hardware giant Dell has announced two new ultrawide monitors geared toward creative professionals and office workers seeking an immersive desktop experience.
The headline items are the 40-inch UltraSharp 40 Curved Thunderbolt Hub Monitor (U4025QW) and the 34-inch UltraSharp 34 Curved Thunderbolt Hub Monitor (U3425WE), set to launch globally on February 27th.
Sporting a generous 5K resolution and 600 nit peak brightness, the aptly named 40-inch model is Dell’s largest ultrawide display ever. The 34-inch monitor is no slouch either at 3440 x 1440 pixels.
Gamers can also enjoy the buttery smooth visuals courtesy of a 120Hz refresh rate, while a Thunderbolt 4 connection provides up to 140 watts of power delivery to charge devices. The monitors appear tailor-made for productivity, with built-in Ethernet, USB-C and USB-A ports, picture-by-picture mode to connect two PCs at once, and TÜV Rheinland-certified eye comfort.
Starting at $2,399, the 40-inch model commands a premium price befitting its expansive real estate. Its smaller 34-inch sibling comes in cheaper at $1,019, serving up many of the same features on an only slightly less grandiose scale.
Early adopters seeking the ultimate desktop real estate for work and play can preorder the monitors soon ahead of the February 27 launch. For the rest, it may be prudent to wait for the early hands-on reviews before taking the plunge into such an immersive display.
