Bose is back with a fresh addition to its popular SoundLink series of wireless speakers, but this time it’s got a stylish twist. While many Bose speakers are built for durability and outdoor adventures — think beach days, sand, and water-resistant gear — the new SoundLink Home goes in a different direction. Priced at $219, this one is made to shine indoors, featuring a premium design with anodized aluminum and a fabric speaker cover that blends seamlessly into your home setup.
Battery life? You’re looking at up to nine hours of playback on a full charge, which takes about four hours via the USB-C port. The same port doubles as an audio input, meaning you can also hook it up to your laptop or other devices the old-school way, with a cable. In terms of wireless connectivity, it supports Bluetooth 5.3 with a range of about 30 feet. And if you want to up the audio game, you can pair it with other SoundLink Home speakers for a stereo setup.
One catch? There’s no Wi-Fi, which means it doesn’t come with features like AirPlay that other Bose speakers offer. This makes it a more traditional Bluetooth speaker rather than a smart one. And while it’s ideal for the living room, you might want to steer clear of the kitchen with this one — there’s no dust or water resistance, so it’s best to avoid spills and splashes.
That said, it does come with a built-in microphone, so you can use it for hands-free calls or to interact with your phone’s voice assistant. It’s available starting today in two sleek colorways: neutral cool gray or light silver. You can grab yours directly from Bose’s online store and bring that signature Bose sound into your home in style.
