The QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds and their predecessors share an almost identical design and feature set. Both deliver the spectacular noise cancellation Bose is known for, reducing even the loudest environments to a faint hum. Their audio performance also punches far above their size class, with clear treble and smooth, powerful bass. Even the charging cases are cross-compatible between models.
Mostly small quality-of-life upgrades for calls and tuning the listening experience. The showstopper feature is personalized spatial audio, which creates a surround sound effect tuned to the unique structure of your ears. Apple users will also appreciate easy integration with ecosystem features like spatial audio for video and automatic device switching.
In terms of sheer performance-per-dollar, both generations of QuietComfort Earbuds are hard to beat at these discounted prices. The minor improvements of the Ultra Earbuds may not warrant an upgrade for every existing owner. But newcomers to the Bose noise cancellation club now have access to these industry-leading earbuds for $100+ less than their launch prices.
