The background appears to be a soft surface, possibly a cushion or clothing, with shadows casting over it, suggesting sunlight filtering through an object not visible in the frame. The focus on the earbuds and their case against the green backdrop creates a striking visual due to the color contrast and play of light and shadow.

Bose is back with another addition to its QuietComfort lineup, offering an option for those who want premium sound without breaking the bank. The second-generation QuietComfort Earbuds, priced at $179, are here to deliver top-notch active noise cancellation (ANC) and a handful of cool features, wrapped in a sleek and comfortable design. These earbuds seem perfect for everyday use, but with some neat extras to make them stand out.

These new earbuds feature active noise cancellation—because, let’s face it, that’s what Bose does best. If you’re in a noisy coffee shop or just need some peace, they’ve got you covered. Battery life is solid too, promising up to 8.5 hours on a single charge (though that’s likely with ANC turned off). Wireless charging is included, and they support multipoint connectivity, so you can switch between devices without a hassle. They’re also rated IPX4, making them resistant to sweat and splashes, perfect for workouts or getting caught in light rain.

Available in black, white smoke, or the soft lilac shade called “chilled lilac,” Bose’s new earbuds are designed to look good while staying practical. They’ve thrown in some fun software features too. One standout is Remote Selfie, letting you use your earbuds to remotely snap a picture with your phone’s camera—great for group shots or hands-free selfies. There’s also a “Hey headphones” voice command that makes it easier to access your favorite virtual assistant without fiddling with your phone. For gamers, there’s a low-latency mode that reduces lag, ensuring sound syncs perfectly with what’s happening on-screen.

The earbuds are designed with a sleek and modern look, featuring a circular shape and no visible wires or cables, indicating they are likely Bluetooth-enabled for wireless connectivity.

Bose is adamant that despite their lower price, the QuietComfort Earbuds still deliver “best-in-class” noise cancellation, a staple feature in its lineup. To help achieve this, each earbud has three built-in microphones, which also improve call quality.

At $179, these QuietComfort Earbuds go head-to-head with Apple’s AirPods 4, which are set to launch with active noise cancellation this Friday. While the price point is the same, the design philosophies are quite different: Bose sticks with silicone tips for a snug fit and better noise isolation, while Apple opts for its signature open-ear design.

In Bose’s current lineup, these earbuds sit just below the flagship QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds and the unique clip-on Ultra Open Earbuds. If you’re looking for the best mix of price, performance, and features, these QC Earbuds are worth considering.

You can grab the second-generation Bose QuietComfort Earbuds for $179 at Amazon, Best Buy, B&H Photo, Target, and directly from Bose.
