The Browser Company just launched its highly-anticipated Arc Search on Android, available in open beta. This follows the app’s earlier release on iOS and Mac, and more recently on Windows. Arc Search, known for its minimalistic design and AI-powered features, aims to deliver a fast, streamlined browsing experience across platforms.
One of the standout features is “Browse for Me,” which scans multiple web pages and compiles an answer to your search query, saving you from having to sift through irrelevant content. This feature is especially handy when looking for things like recipes or other detailed information that typically involves scanning multiple sources. Built-in ad-blocking technology enhances the user experience by removing trackers, banners, and even those annoying GDPR pop-ups.
While it’s still in early beta, the Android version also includes tab auto-archiving to prevent browser clutter. Notably, Arc Search for Android is designed to be incredibly lightweight—under 20MB once fully installed—which is impressive given that the app was built by just two developers. Despite this, the Android version doesn’t yet have some of the iOS-exclusive features, such as “pinch to summarize” or voice-based search interactions.
The public beta launch marks another step in The Browser Company’s plan to make Arc a cross-platform tool that offers users a fresh approach to web browsing, centered around fast, ad-free searching.
