Despite initial expectations, Apple‘s recent Glowtime event didn’t feature the highly anticipated Apple Watch Ultra 3 and Watch SE 3. This came as a bit of a surprise, given the flurry of rumors leading up to the event. However, supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has now revealed that both smartwatches are slated for a 2025 launch.
Kuo’s track record on Apple product predictions has been mixed. While he correctly anticipated the absence of the Ultra 3 and SE 3 at this year’s event, he previously suggested that at least one of these watches might be released in 2023. It’s possible that Kuo was referring to the Apple Watch Ultra 2 with its new satin black finish.
So, when can we expect to see these new smartwatches? Based on Apple’s typical release cycles, the Watch SE 3 might arrive in the spring of 2025, potentially alongside a refreshed iPhone SE. This would align with the timing of the iPhone SE 3‘s launch in March 2022.
As for the Apple Watch Ultra 3, it’s more likely to debut in the fall of 2025, alongside the iPhone 17 lineup. Apple might even introduce a new naming convention for the iPhone lineup, possibly replacing the “Plus” model with an “Air” or “Slim” variant.
