For those who’ve been eyeing Apple‘s luxurious Link Bracelet or the sophisticated Milanese Loop for their Apple Watch, now might be the time to make that move – if you’re an Apple employee, that is. The company is offering a tantalizing deal on these premium accessories, slashing prices by a hefty 40% for its workforce.
The Link Bracelet, a sleek stainless steel marvel, typically commands a steep $349 for the silver variant or a cool $449 for the space black edition. But Apple’s own are being treated to a substantial discount, with prices dipping to $209 and $269 respectively. Similarly, the elegant Milanese Loop, usually priced at $99 across finishes, can now be had for a mere $59 by those on Cupertino’s payroll.
But the discounts don’t stop there. Apple is also extending a generous 50% cut on its special-edition Black Unity and Pride Edition bands, as well as the Midnight Sport Band. This magnanimous offer, however, remains an exclusive perk for the company’s employees.
This isn’t the first time Apple has shown such generosity towards its own. Last year, just days before the annual September event, the company offered a staggering 90% discount on its Hermès watch bands – a luxurious collection that typically carries eye-watering price tags. The timing of these discounts has fueled speculation that Apple might be clearing out inventory in anticipation of a redesigned watch mechanism, one that could render current bands obsolete.
The September event did, in fact, unveil a new lineup of Hermès bands, eschewing traditional leather in favor of woven materials. This move, coupled with the recent discounts, has industry watchers wondering if the next generation of Apple Watches will feature a revamped band attachment system, potentially making existing bands incompatible.
For consumers eagerly awaiting the next iteration of Apple’s wearable, this presents a quandary: to buy or not to buy? While the temptation of a discounted Link Bracelet or Milanese Loop might be strong, it could also be a case of investing in soon-to-be obsolete accessories. Perhaps the wiser move would be to exercise patience and wait for the new Apple Watch to debut, lest one’s fancy new band become little more than a stylish paperweight.
