Apple TV+ revealed that “Physical,” a hit half-hour dramedy starring and executive produced by Rose Byrne and produced by its creator, writer, and executive producer Annie Weisman, had been renewed for a season three.

“I am thrilled for the opportunity to continue telling Sheila’s story in creative collaboration with Rose Byrne and the rest of our incredible cast, writers and crew. Rose’s breathtaking, hilarious and brave performance is the North Star on our show’s journey of personal empowerment and transformation in ’80s Southern California in all its synth-pop, sun-baked, spandex-clad glory,” said Annie Weisman, creator and showrunner.

“The feedback we’ve received from audiences who continue to discover and feel seen by “Physical” is the most deeply gratifying experience of my career and I’m so grateful to our team at Apple and Tomorrow Studios for making this dream a reality,” she added.

Ever since the worldwide premiere on Apple TV+, “Physical” has received accolades from both critics and viewers. It has also earned recognition for the performances of its ensemble cast, which includes Rose Byrne, who has been applauded for being “perfectly cast” and “masterful,” as well as Murray Bartlett, who debuted in season two and co-starred with Rory Scovel, Dierdre Friel, and Paul Sparks.

“Physical” is produced by Tomorrow Studios (an ITV Studios partnership). Weisman served as the show’s creator, writer, and executive producer. This series is directed by Stephanie Laing, who also acts as executive producer alongside Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements for Tomorrow Studios, Craig Gillespie, and Byrne. Co-executive producer Alissa Bachner works on the project.

Seasons one and two of “Physical” are currently available for catch-up streaming on Apple TV+. Following successfully releasing her first fitness video in season two, our star Sheila Rubin (played by Byrne) runs into some new and more difficult challenges.

She is trapped between a perilous attraction to someone else and her duty to her husband, Rory Scovel (as Danny Rubin), and the ideals he upholds. On the way to creating a fully-fledged fitness empire, she finds herself having to outrun some fierce new rivals because she is no longer the only game in town.
