Apple TV+ recently order “The Dynasty,” a new documentary event series on the New England Patriots from Brian Grazer and Ron Howard‘s Imagine Documentaries, in collaboration with NFL Films, to join its award-winning unscripted slate.

The 10-part docuseries is based on author Jeff Benedict‘s highly acclaimed New York Times bestseller novel. Benedict spent two years within the New England Patriots organization, with unprecedented access, documenting the player’s growth and historic 20-year run during the Brady-Belichick-Kraft period.

The documentary series, created by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Matthew Hamachek (“Tiger”), will go deeper into the Patriots’ archive, including thousands of hours of never-before-seen video footage and audio archives.

Hundreds of interviews with past and present Patriots players, coaches, and executives, as well as league officials and the arch-rivals of the most successful sports dynasty of the twenty-first century, are being conducted by the filmmakers during the 2021 season.

Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Sara Bernstein, Justin Wilkes, and Jenna Millman (“The First Wave”), as well as Hamachek and Benedict, executive produce the documentary series, which is produced by Imagine Documentaries in partnership with NFL Films. Miranda Johnson (“60 Days”) is a co-executive producer on the film.
