Recently, Apple TV+ announced a new series order for “Amber Brown,” based on the best-selling books by Paula Danziger. Bonnie Hunt (The Bonnie Hunt Show, and actress in the 1995 film Jumanji) will direct and write the show, as well as serve as executive producer and showrunner.
Danziger’s award-winning and popular “Amber Brown” middle-grade book series has been commended for capturing the kid experience in a hilarious, accessible voice, and has been published in 53 countries with over 10 million copies in print.
Boat Rocker created “Amber Brown” for Apple. Boat Rocker is executive produced by Bob Higgins (“Dino Ranch,” “A Tale Dark and Grimm,” “The Who Was?”) and Jon Rutherford (“A Tale Dark and Grimm,” “Daniel Spellbound,” “Dino Ranch”).
About “Amber Brown”
In the shadow of her parent’s divorce, “Amber Brown” is an unfiltered look at a girl establishing her own voice via art and music. Carsyn Rose (“The Rookie,” “Cousins for Life”) will play Amber Brown, an everykid going through what many children go through and trying to make sense of her new family dynamic through her doodles and video diary. Amber Brown’s mother, Sarah Brown (Grey’s Anatomy, Cruel Summer), is played by Sarah Drew (Grey’s Anatomy, Cruel Summer). Darin Brooks (“Blue Mountain State,” “The Croods: Family Tree”) and Liliana Inouye (“The Slows”) round out the ensemble cast as Max and Brandi Colwin, respectively.
