Apple’s long-anticipated venture into smart displays is taking shape, with new leaks providing intriguing details about its design and functionality. According to recent reports, the display will feature a 6.7-inch OLED screen with LTPS (low-temperature polycrystalline silicon) technology. While LTPS lacks the advanced features of LTPO displays—such as variable refresh rates—it aligns with cost-effective manufacturing and is well-suited for a home device.
The screen size positions Apple’s offering as compact, comparable to Google’s 7-inch Nest Hub, and notably smaller than most Amazon Echo Show devices. Its design may include a movable arm similar to the classic iMac G4 and could integrate with Apple’s smart home ecosystem.
Rumored to include the A18 chip, the device promises to support intelligent home control and enhance Siri’s functionality. Though initially expected earlier, the launch has been delayed to late 2025, with possible announcements ahead. This delay suggests Apple may refine its product to better compete with Amazon and Google in the smart home space.
