Apple is gearing up for its eagerly awaited “Scary Fast” event, and while the company has been teasing a Halloween-themed overhaul of its iconic Happy Mac icon, the specifics of what Mac updates we can expect remain shrouded in mystery.
Enter an unverifiable source that recently surfaced on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, setting the rumor mill into overdrive. The source has posted an image of what they claim is the box for a new MacBook Pro. Shared on X (formerly Twitter) by the notorious leaker ShrimpApplePro, this snapshot showcases the quintessential Apple-style image of a MacBook Pro on the box, but it’s devoid of any concrete details.
The design seems to align seamlessly with Apple’s signature aesthetics, leaving little room for speculation regarding major visual alterations. Judging by the base’s thickness, it’s safe to assume that we’re looking at a MacBook Pro rather than an updated MacBook Air.
The rumor mill is churning at full speed, with whispers of an M3 MacBook Pro slated for an October release. However, up until recent back-and-forth claims, the consensus among insiders pointed toward a 2024 launch. But that’s not all—other reports have hinted at the arrival of a 24-inch iMac, and the ever-reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has thrown another curveball by suggesting a refresh for the old 13-inch MacBook Pro.
In the midst of all this speculation, Apple is preparing to unveil its latest Mac, or perhaps multiple Macs, at the “Scary Fast” event scheduled for October 30, 2023.
