Black Friday deals have arrived in full swing, and Apple fans are in for a pleasant surprise: the second-generation AirPods Pro with USB-C are available at their lowest price ever. Retailers like Amazon, Walmart, and Target have slashed prices to just $153.99 (a $95 discount), while Best Buy offers them at $160. Meanwhile, the newer AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) are sitting at $168.99 on Amazon and Target. That makes the AirPods Pro a better deal—and arguably the better product overall.

Here’s why this is a big deal: the second-gen AirPods Pro are still considered Apple’s gold standard for wireless earbuds. They outshine the AirPods 4 in several key areas. First, their Active Noise Cancellation is superior, aided by silicone tips that create a snug fit, blocking out more external sound. This also enhances their bass response, making them ideal for music enthusiasts. Additionally, the AirPods Pro comes with touch-sensitive volume controls—a feature the AirPods 4 lacks.

Battery life is another area where the Pro model wins. With ANC enabled, they last up to six hours per charge and offer a total of 30 hours with the charging case. In comparison, the AirPods 4 provide just four hours of ANC playback and 19 hours with the case.

Both models include advanced features like spatial audio, adaptive audio, transparency modes, and Find My-enabled charging cases. However, the AirPods Pro have the added advantage of being certified for use as hearing aids—a bonus feature introduced with iOS 18.1.

If you prefer a smaller, tip-free design, the AirPods 4 might appeal to you. But for most users, the AirPods Pro’s superior sound quality, noise cancellation, and comfort make them the clear choice—especially at their current discounted price.

For those looking to grab a pair, now might be the best time, as these discounts are unlikely to last beyond Cyber Monday.
