Starting in early November 2025, the company began rolling out Alexa Plus — its generative-AI-powered upgrade to Alexa — inside the Amazon Music app on iOS and Android for customers enrolled in the Alexa Plus Early Access beta. That means you can now have a conversational, chatty assistant tucked into the same place you press play.
Alexa Plus isn’t just a prettier voice for the old “skip” and “play” commands. Amazon pitches it as a music-savvy companion: it can identify songs from half-remembered lyrics or the TV show they played in, explain what a song is about, trace where samples in a track came from, and even surface festival lineups and chart positions. You can make oddly specific requests — “play ’90s pop like Madonna but no boy bands” — and Alexa Plus will filter accordingly.
