EcoFlow has quietly expanded its ultra-lightweight Trail Series with the introduction of the Trail Plus 300 DC Portable Power Station—its first in the lineup to swap in a nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM) battery pack in place of the long-standing lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) cell. The result is a marginally lighter, more energy-dense option tailor-made for hikers, campers and van-lifers who prize every ounce.

At its core, the Trail Plus 300 DC retains the same 288Wh capacity and up to 300W of continuous DC output as its sibling, the Trail 300 DC, but boosts its versatility with three 140W USB-C ports instead of two, alongside dual 12W USB-A slots and a 120W 12V car outlet for powering accessories like inflators or mini-fridges. A detachable 140W cable handle doubles as both a charging conduit and an ergonomic carry grip—a clever two-in-one design element borrowed from the base Trail models.

Beyond ports, EcoFlow has layered in camping-centric touches: a built-in multifunction LED lantern and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi radios that let you monitor and control charge levels, output channels and firmware updates via the EcoFlow app. App users can track real-time power draw, set scheduled on/off timers and receive low-battery alerts without ever unzipping a tent flap.

The headline upgrade is the shift from an LFP pack—renowned for its 3,000-plus cycle life and safety stability—to an NCM cell, which typically offers higher energy density at the cost of fewer recharge cycles (approximately 500–1,000) and greater sensitivity to deep discharge. At just 5.0 lbs (2.3kg) and measuring 8.1 × 4.5 × 4.8 inches (206 × 115 × 123 mm), the Plus variant shaves about 0.7 lbs and a bit of bulk compared to the 5.7 lb, 6.5-inch-deep Trail 300 DC—a meaningful weight saving when you’re shouldering gear over uneven terrain.

EcoFlow’s PR partner confirms that while the standard Trail 200 DC and Trail 300 DC hit the U.S. market on August 1, the Trail Plus 300 DC is slated to arrive later this fall—likely October—at an MSRP of $299.99.
