Right now, for a limited time, Fujifilm’s slick Instax Mini Link 3 wireless smartphone printer has slipped from its usual $100 price tag down to about $90 at all the big photo retailers: Adorama and B&H Photo is listing it for $89.95 (save $10), while the Best Buy is matching that at $89.99. Whether you’re hunting for a last-minute gift or just itching to turn your phone snaps into physical keepsakes, that’s about as good a moment as any to pick one up.

Fusing compact design with smartphone smarts, the Instax Mini Link 3 is as much a creative playground as it is a printer. Pair it via Bluetooth to your iOS or Android device, load up the free instax Mini Link app, and you’re only 15 seconds away from your first print – that’s the time it takes from tapping “Print” to the film beginning to emerge. Give it another minute and a half, and your glossy 2 × 3 inch Instax mini photo is fully developed and ready to handle.

What really sets the Mini Link 3 apart is its Instax AiR Studio, a built‑in AR playground that layers three‑dimensional effects onto your images. Want confetti raining down from the sky? You’ve got it. How about animated hearts floating up as though you’ve just dropped cupid’s arrow? Also possible. These aren’t just canned stickers – you can stack multiple effects, rotate them in 3D space, and even record video through the app as you frame your shot, then snap and print straight from your live view.

If you’d rather keep things analog, the printer itself doubles as a remote shutter release for your phone camera: open the instax Camera mode in the app, tilt the printer forward to zoom in (and backward to zoom out), then tap its power button when you’ve got the perfect shot. It’s like having a tiny tripod and shutter remote built into your printer.

For spontaneous fun, tap into Click to Collage: the app will fire off a burst of six quick snaps at three‑second intervals and let you choose two, four, or all six images to assemble into a single collage print – your very own photo‑booth strip minus the curtain. And if you really want to blur the lines between physical and digital, embed a QR code on your print; friends can scan it to watch a video clip that inspired the shot, turning each little credit‑card‑size photo into a multimedia time capsule.

Beyond AiR Studio and collages, there are plenty of playful modes to explore:

  • Match Test, a giddy way to test your compatibility with friends and watch the printer spit out a “yes/no” result in seconds.
  • Frame Print, which dresses your photo in one of a dozen funky border designs, from polaroid‑style classic to glittery party frames.
  • SNS Share, a quick‑share tool that drops your print to Instagram, TikTok, or wherever you post your best moments.
  • Collage Print, separate from Click to Collage, that lets you drag and drop up to five images into custom layouts before hitting print.

Under the hood, the Link 3 packs a rechargeable Li‑ion battery that delivers roughly 100 prints per charge (varying by usage) and recharges swiftly over USB‑C. The built‑in LED light ring not only pulses to show connectivity and battery status but also doubles as a fun visual cue that your memories are getting ready to pop out.
