According to VideoCardz, the design of this GPU is “unfamiliar,” hinting that we could be looking at either an RTX 5080 or a 5070 Ti. This speculation isn’t baseless; last month, leaks from hardware giants Zotac and Acer suggested NVIDIA was gearing up to unveil not just one or two, but possibly five new GPUs from the RTX 50 series. This lineup is expected to include the high-end RTX 5090, alongside the RTX 5080 and the 5070 Ti. Further adding to the buzz, VideoCardz today reported on another leak, this time from MSI, showcasing an RTX 5080 with a hefty 16GB of GDDR7 memory.
NVIDIA’s usual veil of secrecy seems to have lifted slightly with the naming of their LAN event as “GeForce LAN 50” and the scheduled CES keynote by NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang on January 6th at 9:30 PM ET. This event, running from January 4th through 6th, seems less like a coincidence and more like a carefully orchestrated reveal, teasing the industry with what’s to come.
What does this mean for gamers and professionals alike? The RTX 50 series could redefine performance benchmarks, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in both gaming and computational workloads.
