Google is working on a groundbreaking AI tool, tentatively called “Project Jarvis,” aimed at automating a variety of digital tasks like research, online shopping, and travel bookings directly through users’ browsers. This “computer-using agent” will reportedly operate within Chrome, leveraging Google’s Gemini AI to recognize elements on web pages, click buttons, and enter information in real-time. In early tests, Jarvis takes seconds to execute each task, but future updates aim to streamline this.

While similar AI models, like Microsoft’s Copilot and Anthropic’s Claude, tackle comparable tasks, Jarvis stands out for its potential Chrome integration, enabling it to intuitively interact with everyday online tools. Google plans to preview the technology as early as December, but its wider release is likely limited to a small group of testers initially to refine any issues before a public rollout.
