Microsoft Office 2024 Professional Plus is down to $49.97 at StackSocial, giving Windows users a way to get the full desktop Office suite without signing up for a recurring Microsoft 365 subscription.

The deal brings the perpetual license down from StackSocial’s listed $249.99 price, representing an 80% discount. The license covers one Windows PC and includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, and Access.

Unlike Microsoft 365, this is a one-time purchase. The Office 2024 installation has a fixed feature set rather than relying on a subscription for continued access, while StackSocial says the software will continue receiving security updates throughout its supported lifecycle.

There are a few important catches. This particular Professional Plus license is for Windows 10 and Windows 11 only, so it won’t work on a Mac. The license is also tied to the device rather than your Microsoft account and isn’t transferable to another PC.

StackSocial says the redemption code and download instructions are delivered by email after purchase, but you’ll need to redeem the code within seven days. Once the license has been redeemed, the sale is final.

At $49.97, the offer makes the most sense for someone who wants the traditional desktop Office apps on a Windows PC and doesn’t need the cloud-connected features or ongoing upgrades that come with Microsoft 365. If you already use Microsoft 365 or need Office on a Mac, this particular license isn’t the right fit.

The price is subject to change, so check the StackSocial listing before purchasing.
