Wispr Flow is bringing its AI meeting assistant to a much larger audience. The company has launched Wispr Flow Notetaker on Windows, following its Mac debut in August, giving Windows users a way to automatically capture meetings, search across past conversations, and turn discussions into follow-up work.
The Windows release arrives as meeting transcription tools have increasingly moved beyond simply producing a transcript. Wispr is positioning Notetaker around what happens after a meeting: finding an old decision, remembering why a deadline changed, drafting a follow-up, or giving an AI assistant enough context to act on everything that was discussed.
Notetaker automatically detects and captures meetings across the apps people already use. Because it records the audio from the user’s computer rather than joining a call as a separate bot, it can work across services including Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Slack huddles, Zoom, Discord, and browser-based calls without requiring a meeting integration or bot invitation.
More than a meeting transcript
The central idea behind Notetaker is to make a meeting record useful after the call ends.
Users can search across their previous meeting history and ask questions about conversations they have had over time. For example, someone could ask what was discussed during customer calls over the past month or look for decisions and follow-ups related to a particular project. Notetaker links answers back to the relevant meetings so users can verify where the information came from.
It can also work during a live meeting. If someone loses track of the conversation, the “What did I miss?” feature can summarize the discussion so far, allowing them to catch up without interrupting the meeting.

After a meeting, Notetaker organizes the conversation into a transcript and an AI-generated summary that pulls out important decisions, timelines, dependencies, and next steps. The service can also separate information by topic rather than leaving users with one giant block of automatically generated notes.
That distinction is important. A transcript tells you what people said. Notetaker is designed to turn that conversation into something closer to a working record of what needs to happen next.
Wispr Flow’s personal dictionary comes along for the meeting
Wispr is also leaning heavily on the technology behind its existing voice-to-text product.
Notetaker uses the user’s personal dictionary and calendar information to help recognize names, acronyms, technical terminology, and other words that generic transcription systems can easily get wrong. Wispr says the transcript receives an additional processing pass after the meeting to catch mistakes and produce a more polished version.
That’s particularly relevant for professional meetings, where a transcription error isn’t necessarily harmless. A misspelled person’s name is inconvenient; an incorrect product name, number, deadline, or assigned task can create an entirely different problem.
Wispr says Notetaker now officially supports transcription in 21 languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Hindi, Japanese, and Korean.
Bring meeting context into ChatGPT and Claude
One of the more interesting parts of Notetaker is its connection to other AI tools.
Users can connect their meeting history to services such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini through Model Context Protocol (MCP). That allows an AI assistant to use meeting transcripts and notes as context rather than requiring users to manually copy and paste pieces of a conversation into a separate chatbot.
For example, a user could ask an AI assistant to draft a follow-up based on recent customer meetings, answer a question about an earlier decision, or combine meeting context with another document or source of information.
That makes Notetaker less of a standalone transcription app and more of a context layer sitting between conversations and the AI tools users already rely on.

It doesn’t join meetings as a bot
Wispr has taken a different approach from meeting assistants that join Zoom or Teams calls as an additional participant.
Notetaker captures audio directly from the computer, meaning there is no Wispr bot appearing in the meeting. On Windows, the software records the computer’s audio and microphone input locally before sending that information to Wispr’s servers for transcription.
That approach makes the system broadly compatible with meeting platforms because it doesn’t need a specific integration for each service. If the computer can play the meeting audio, Notetaker can capture it.
There is an important privacy consideration, however: because participants may not see a bot or receive an automatic meeting notification, Wispr explicitly tells users to inform everyone before recording or transcribing a conversation. Recording and consent requirements can also vary depending on the state or country.
For businesses, Wispr provides administrative controls that can enable or disable Notetaker across an organization, impose privacy restrictions, and optionally require users to confirm that they have obtained participant consent before recording. Wispr also says meeting data from Enterprise accounts is not used to train AI models.
Windows requirements are higher than ordinary Flow dictation
Notetaker is available on Windows 10 and Windows 11, but it requires more hardware than Wispr Flow’s regular voice-dictation feature.
Wispr lists 16GB of RAM and at least 2GB of free storage for Windows Notetaker. By comparison, Windows voice dictation requires 8GB of RAM and about 200MB of available storage. Windows on ARM and Snapdragon PCs are currently unsupported for Flow’s Windows dictation, while Notetaker is listed for supported Windows PCs.
The additional requirements make sense given that Notetaker is doing substantially more than simple voice input, including capturing meeting audio, maintaining a live transcript, processing recordings, and generating summaries.
Notetaker also works with existing meeting histories
Wispr is making it easier for people switching from other meeting-note services to bring their previous conversations with them.
The company says users coming from services such as Granola or Otter can import their meeting history into Notetaker, including information such as the source, meeting date, summary, and transcript.
That gives the service a way to build a searchable archive rather than starting with an empty database on the day a user installs it.
The Windows launch therefore isn’t simply about adding another platform to Wispr Flow. It expands Notetaker into the enormous Windows productivity ecosystem while reinforcing the company’s larger idea: meeting notes should be useful as context for everything that happens after the conversation.
Wispr Flow Notetaker is now available on both Mac and Windows.
