Samsung is bringing a sleeker look to a broader range of its washing machines. At IFA 2026, the company showcased a new lineup of 24-inch front-load washers featuring its flat design, a styling approach that had previously been reserved for select premium models.

The new washers were displayed at Samsung Connect in Berlin from September 2 through 6, giving visitors an early look at the machines ahead of their official launch. Samsung says the lineup is designed to combine a more refined appearance with practical improvements that make loading and unloading laundry easier.

The most obvious change is on the front of the machines. Samsung has moved away from the more protruding elements found on some of its previous washer designs in favor of a flatter, more uniform surface.

The result is a cleaner silhouette that Samsung says is intended to blend more naturally with modern interiors. That could be particularly useful in homes where the washer sits in a kitchen, utility area or other visible part of the living space rather than being hidden away.

The design isn’t purely cosmetic, either. Samsung has fitted the new washers with a larger door and a wider opening angle, giving users easier access to the drum when loading and removing clothes.

That combination of a less intrusive exterior and a larger opening is part of Samsung’s broader push to make its appliances feel more integrated into the home rather than simply functional machines.

Samsung is also carrying over washing technologies from some of its higher-end models.

The new lineup includes Bubble Shot, which sprays water throughout the drum during the wash cycle. Samsung says the technology can help reduce washing time while maintaining cleaning performance. The company’s cited testing compared a Cotton cycle on a WW7400D model equipped with Bubble Shot against a conventional Samsung washer without the technology, with results varying according to laundry type and usage conditions.

Ecobubble is another major feature. The technology mixes detergent with water and air so that detergent dissolves more quickly and spreads more evenly through fabrics. Samsung says this can help deliver effective cleaning at lower temperatures while reducing energy use in supported modes.

Together, those features give the new washers more than just a visual makeover. Samsung is positioning the lineup as an example of how its premium design language and laundry technologies can gradually reach a wider range of products.

The new 24-inch washers are part of a larger effort by Samsung to create a more consistent design experience across its home appliance portfolio.

“Customers around the world increasingly expect home appliances to harmonize with their living environments,” Hyoung Min Park, Samsung’s Vice President and Head of the Customer Experience Team for its Digital Appliances business, said in the company’s announcement. He said the company wants to combine refined aesthetics with thoughtful usability as it expands the flat design approach across more laundry appliances.

That strategy is becoming increasingly visible across Samsung’s appliance lineup, where industrial design is being treated as an important part of the overall connected-home experience. The company also showcased new Bespoke AI washers at IFA 2026, including a 10kg model targeting A-70% energy efficiency and a 13kg model designed to fit within a standard 600mm depth.

The flat-front 24-inch models, however, are focused on a different part of the equation: making a relatively compact washer look cleaner while improving everyday access.

When will Samsung’s new washers launch?

There is one important caveat. The machines shown at IFA 2026 are development-stage display models, and Samsung has not yet determined their commercial availability. The company also notes that specifications may change before launch.

For now, the new 24-inch lineup offers a preview of where Samsung’s front-load washers are heading: flatter and more integrated exterior designs, easier access through larger doors, and established washing technologies such as Bubble Shot and Ecobubble.

As Samsung continues expanding its flat design beyond its premium appliances, these washers could eventually make the company’s cleaner, more minimalist aesthetic available to a much broader range of households.
