ASUS has unveiled the ZenMouse MD202, a compact wireless mouse that’s as much about design and feel as it is about everyday productivity. It’s the company’s first mouse with a Ceraluminum top cover, a custom material that blends ceramic-like texture with an aluminum-like sheen to deliver a more premium, minimalist aesthetic than your typical plastic peripheral.

The top shell is CNC-crafted and finished in two nature-inspired colors — Moher Gray and Scandinavian White — clearly echoing the Zenbook design language for users who care about a clean, desk-friendly setup. Beyond looks, ASUS says this Ceraluminum surface is smudge-resistant, easy to wipe down, and more resistant to wear, scratches, and shocks, so the mouse should keep its fresh-out-of-the-box look for longer.

Under the skin, the ZenMouse MD202 aims to be a one-mouse-for-everything kind of accessory. It supports dual-mode wireless connectivity, letting you connect over Bluetooth or a 2.4GHz RF dongle, and can be paired with up to four devices at once for quick switching between, say, a laptop, tablet, desktop, and maybe even a TV or secondary machine. There’s also a Track-on-Glass optical sensor, meaning it can track accurately on glass and a wide range of tricky surfaces, which is handy if you’re working on a bare desk or in cafés with glossy tables.

ASUS is also pushing durability and feel. The ZenMouse MD202 uses gaming-grade tactile micro switches rated for up to 50 million clicks, paired with full-perimeter PTFE feet to make gliding across a mousepad or desk feel smooth and consistent. It’s a symmetrical design with five buttons, so it suits both right-handed and some left-handed users, though ASUS doesn’t advertise it as a full ambidextrous, side-button-on-both-sides-style gaming mouse.

On the battery front, this is a rechargeable mouse with USB-C fast charging, which is increasingly becoming the bare minimum for modern accessories — and ASUS is ticking that box properly. The company claims up to seven months of use on a full charge for everyday productivity scenarios. If you do run low, a low-battery LED indicator lights up when the level drops below 20%, and just one minute of USB-C charging is enough to provide up to 16 hours of light use, so topping up between meetings shouldn’t be a problem.

Customization is handled through the MyASUS app on Windows, where you can re-map shortcuts and tweak sensitivity. ASUS lets you assign handy functions such as Screen Capture, Spotlight effects (Highlight, Magnify, Laser), Pin/Unpin Window, Show/Hide Desktop, and even quick access to Windows Copilot, which is a nice touch for users leaning into AI-assisted workflows. You can also set preferred DPI levels between 800 and 4200 dpi, which are then tied to the mouse’s three-stage DPI switch on the underside for on-the-fly sensitivity changes.

In terms of footprint, the ZenMouse MD202 comes in at 115.7 x 62.2 x 34.4 mm and weighs about 85 grams, which puts it in the comfortable, everyday productivity range rather than ultra-light esports territory. There’s also an integrated dongle storage slot, making it easier to travel with the 2.4GHz receiver without losing it at the bottom of your bag.

Overall, the ZenMouse MD202 is ASUS trying to make a mouse that feels more like a premium lifestyle accessory than just another office tool — something that visually pairs with its Zenbook laptops, holds up to heavy daily use, and doesn’t force you to compromise on battery life, connectivity, or surface compatibility. For users who care about how their desk setup looks as much as how it works, the Ceraluminum top cover is the main story here: a new material play aimed at giving a simple mouse a more refined, design-first personality without sacrificing the basics.
