A person wearing a cream ribbed turtleneck sweater sits at a wooden desk, leaning forward toward a laptop. A large, reflective glass orb encircles them, with multiple small white cards or note fragments floating in the air around it. The scene is dramatically lit with warm, directional light against a dark background, evoking the concept of an AI agent orchestrating and managing multiple tasks simultaneously — fitting for a feature image about Perplexity Computer.

Perplexity just made one of its most powerful tools even more accessible — Perplexity Computer is now available to Pro subscribers as of March 12, 2026.

Think of Computer as your personal AI employee that never sleeps. Instead of just answering questions, it actually does things — browsing the web, writing and running code, sending emails, updating project boards, and completing multi-step tasks without you having to hold its hand. It accepts a high-level goal, then automatically breaks it down into sub-agents, each working inside its own isolated cloud sandbox with access to a real filesystem and real browser.

What makes this especially interesting is the sheer depth of the system. Pro subscribers now get access to 20+ advanced AI models, prebuilt and custom skills, and hundreds of connectors. Under the hood, Perplexity routes each sub-task to the best model for the job — so a coding request might go to Claude, while a lighter query hits a faster, smaller model. You can think of it like a smart project manager that knows which specialist to call, every single time.

The difference between the Pro and Max tiers is worth noting. While Pro subscribers get full access to Computer’s features, Max subscribers receive monthly credits and higher spend limits, making it better suited for heavier, more frequent workloads. Importantly, Computer operates on a credit-based system — some early users noted their credits ran out faster than expected, so it’s worth keeping an eye on usage.

On the enterprise side, this is a big deal. Computer can handle persistent workflows that run for months, checking in with you only when it truly needs input. With authenticated connectors plugging into hundreds of tools and MCP server support for custom integrations, businesses can essentially deploy dozens of AI workers in parallel — all from within a single Perplexity subscription. VentureBeat noted that Computer is now directly taking aim at enterprise automation platforms, giving companies access to every possible enterprise connector alongside the ability to create their own custom skills.
