Tech company 1MORE has released a refresh of their popular Fit SE Open Earbuds, the S31. While they share many features with the S30, the focus here is on improved comfort for extended wear.

At first glance, the S31 might seem like a minor upgrade to the existing S30. They retain the same open-ear design with surprisingly large 14.2mm drivers, an AI-powered 4-microphone noise-cancellation system for calls, and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity. You can still find the S30 on Amazon.

But 1MORE claims they’ve addressed a key point for open-ear users: comfort during long listening sessions. They say they’ve applied their learnings from the S30 to make the S31 a whopping 30% lighter, with each earbud weighing just 8.2 grams.

For a secure and comfortable fit, the S31 relies on “gravity-balanced” ear hooks with a soft silicone coating. These are designed to snugly hug your ears without causing irritation. However, a slight downgrade here is that the internal support wire is made of steel instead of titanium, which was used in the S30.

Despite the lighter build, the S31 maintains the impressive 30-hour battery life of its predecessor and offers IPX5 water resistance, protecting against sweat and splashes. They even boast a slightly more stylish look with the company logo on the outer surfaces, compared to the plain “1MORE” branding on the S30.
