The title of the highly anticipated new current affairs series from the acclaimed host, writer, producer, and director Jon Stewart has been revealed today by Apple TV+. In a multi-year deal with Stewart, “The Problem with Jon Stewart” will premiere on Apple TV+ in the fall of 2021.
“The Problem with Jon Stewart” is a multi-season, one-hour single-issue series that will examine current national issues and Stewart’s advocacy work. A companion podcast will be released for each season of the show to continue the conversation.
Stewart, through his Busboy Productions, will host and executive produce the program. Showrunner Brinda Adhikari, Stewart’s longtime boss James Dixon, and Richard Plepler’s EDEN Productions, which has an exclusive overall distribution contract with Apple, are executive producers. Lorrie Baranek is the executive in charge of production, and Chelsea Devantez is the head writer.
Stewart and his production company, Busboy Productions, have also collaborated with Apple TV+ on a first-look deal for projects to be created and built for the service.
